Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about submitting, nominating, attending, and joining the Homer Awards community.

Publisher submissions for the Thriller awards open September 1, 2026. Publishers submit directly through the Submit & Nominate page. Books must be published in English between October 1, 2025, and October 1, 2026.

Any member of Thriller Book Retreat can nominate an indie thriller by posting a verified Amazon review of at least 50 words. That review is the nomination. There is no cost to the author or the nominator. Ever. The nomination window opens on September 1, 2026.

Submit a synopsis and your first three chapters through the Penelope Award page. Submissions open September 1 and close December 31, 2026. A submission fee is required to filter out serious manuscripts. Jonas Saul longlists ten — full manuscripts are then requested.

The gala on October 22, 2027, is included for all BOOKfest Greece retreat guests. Book your place on the full retreat through Imagine Greece Retreats. Gala-only tickets will be announced closer to the event.

Greece fiction nominations open October 1, 2026, through the Greece fiction community partners. Publishers may also submit directly. See the Submit & Nominate page for full details on the Aristofanis, Aphrodite, Sofoclis, and Herodotus awards.

The Reader Voice juror is elected annually by the Thriller Book Retreat community. To stand, you must be a Thriller Book Retreat member, hold a public Goodreads profile with a minimum of 50 written thriller reviews, and be subscribed to Imagine Press. The winner receives a complimentary stay at Imagine Greece Retreats before the gala.
